Art8 Newquay – Sun, sea, sand and culture – 22nd to 24th April 2016
The 21st April sees the launch of the town’s 5th prestigious Art8 event, which kicks off at the Greenheart Café on Tower Road, postcode TR7 1LR. Newquay’s Arts & Culture Festival consists of three action-packed days of events, exhibitions and workshops covering everything from art, film, crafts, poetry and dance to photography, theatre, music, literature and more.
The idea is to transform the town into a recognised and respected creative and cultural hub, giving local artists, performers and community groups the support they need to show their work, involve the community and give holidaymakers something special to enjoy early in the season.
If you’re not visiting for the event itself, not to worry. The Art8 team is active all year round, lending important support to a wide range of arts-based events. At the core of Art8 sits a determination to focus on quality and affordability. The results inspire, challenge, motivate and encourage everyone concerned, both locals and visitors, to take part in the fun.
You’ll discover visual art exhibitions across venues throughout the town. A series of ‘Why Don’t You’ Workshops are a major feature, letting you join in doing something completely different, something you’ve never tried before… which is all part of an exceptional holiday experience. And the fun carries on into the evening, with performances and events, theatre and music, poetry and film, showcasing the best of the arts in Newquay and beyond.
